Welcome to Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Senior School, located in the heart of Ōtara, South Auckland, where young people are supported to thrive, lead, and succeed as their authentic selves.

Inspired by the legacy of Sir Edmund Hillary, we foster courage, perseverance, and service. Our learning is future-focused, with strong academic pathways and pastoral care that ensure every student feels known, valued, and supported.

We are proud to be part of a three-school collegiate model, working alongside our Junior and Middle Schools on one site. Guided by strong partnerships between our principals and supported by our Board of Trustees, we work together to ensure belonging, collaboration, and success for all learners.

We celebrate the richness and diversity of our students, honouring the cultural values, faith, traditions, and identities they bring — from Māori and Pasifika to the many multicultural heritages that make our community unique. As they walk through our gates, students are warmly welcomed, affirmed, and empowered to embrace who they are and the strengths they carry, contributing proudly to our vibrant school whānau.

At Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate, we champion our students not only to succeed academically and personally, but to reimagine what’s possible for young people from Otara. We inspire them to break barriers, challenge expectations, and make a positive, lasting impact on their communities, across the Motu and global.

Together with our whānau and the school community, we are committed to developing confident, capable, and empowered learners, ready to embrace opportunities and lead with purpose. I look forward to walking alongside you all, listening to our students’ stories, working alongside staff and whānau, and growing together as a vibrant, connected Otara community
