Middle School

Welcome to the Middle School

Kia ora Koutou Katoa, Talofa Lava, Kia orana, Malo e lelei, Fakaalofa atu, and Welcome.

The Highlights expressed in the video above hopefully give you an insight of how much we value your children’s future.

When your child begins their journey at Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Middle School they will embark on a journey. Which we often refer to as “Rowing the same Waka together” or never letting anyone fall behind uplifting each other in a positive manner.

This experience is our personalized approach to the middle school teaching and learning and is designed to give your child a wide variety of opportunities across the curriculum.

The students at Sir Edmund Hillary Middle School always come first. You can expect your child to be well taught, well looked after and, in partnership with you, they will receive the best possible education over their two years with us. We know that after their time at our school, all students will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for personal success and a easy transition to high school as we have the senior school and junior schools all on one campus. We aim to develop articulate, energized achievers ready for the future.

At Sir Edmund Hillary Middle School we ensure our students enter the next stage of their lives with a positive self image and that they look back on their time with us as an important and engaging one.

Food is not an obstacle as we provide your child with Breakfast (Bagels, Toast, Baked Beans, Spaghetti, Weetbix, Yoghurt, Milk and Fruit), Morning Tea and Lunch (Sandwiches of the day and Fruit). We often have free sausage sizzles on Fridays so we see no need for purchasing food across the road at the dairy and encourage all students to eat healthy.

Our staff is a dedicated highly skilled and hardworking team – always ensuring that excellence in programme delivery is maintained. The staff welcome parent contact and feedback, remembering that class time is paramount. An appointment via email or by phone ensures your concerns are addressed with the attention they deserve.

As a school we also need our community, family and whanau to “row the waka” with us also so we value your contribution and encourage you to install similar values at home so the students have a seamless transition from home life to school life.

Please contact Iqbal Hussein: Deputy Principal of the Middle School if you have any furthur queries about the wellbeing of your child.
