Course Aim and Description:
Level 1 Physical Education is a theoretical course, with practical elements. The course is internally assessed and covers a range of topics. These vary from anatomy and biomechanics to interpersonal skills and practical performance. Students will need to demonstrate a conscientious approach to their learning in both practical and a classroom environment to be successful. There is also a very strong requirement for consistent participation in both the classroom and practical activities.

Course Aim and Description:
Level 2 PE is a continuation of Level 1 PE. There is a strong theoretical aspect to the course, with practical elements. Students will be required to attend a camp early in the year, to demonstrate both leadership and social responsibility. Students will also study biophysical principles related to the learning of new skills, the functions of the body when training, as well as risk management in outdoor activities. Students will be need to demonstrate a conscientious approach to their learning in both practical and a classroom environment in order to be successful. There is also a very strong requirement for consistent participation in both the classroom and practical activities.

This course offers a lot of practical, but there is theory work to complete to meet assessment requirements. Students should NOT expect an entirely practical course.
